Why we are sending this notice
This page describes the management methods of the site with
reference to the treatment of the personal details of users
who are visiting it.
It is an informative note that has been applied through art.
13 of the Legislative Decree n. 196/2003 - A code related to
the protection of personal details of those who interact with
the web services of the Guarantor for the protection of personal
details, which can be found at the following address:

which corresponds to the initial page of the Authority's official
site.
The informative note is only available for the Guarantor's website
and not for other sites which may be consulted by the user through
links.
The informative note is based on the Recommendation n. 2/2001
adopted by the European authorities for the protection of personal
data, combined in the Group created by art. 29 of the regulation
n. 95/46/CE, on 17th May 2001 to identify some minimum requirements
for the collection of personal details on-line and, in particular,
the methods, times and nature of the information that the bearers
must provide to users when they visit web pages, regardless
of the reason for having visited such web pages.
The Recommendation and a brief description of its objectives
are indicated in other pages in this site.
The "Bearer" of the treatment
Following consultation of this site, details related to identified
or identifiable individuals may be used.
The "bearer" of treatment is the Guarantor for the
protection of personal details, based in Mestre - Venice -
(Italy), Viale Ancona 22.
Area of treatment of details
Treatment related to the web services of this site are located
in the above mentioned head office of the Guarantor and are
only handled by technical personnel of the Office in charge
of handling personal details, or by any other employees in
charge of one-off maintenance operations.
No details deriving from the web service will be transmitted
or diffused.
The personal details provided by users who request information
and materials (bulletins, CD-rom's, newsletters, annual reports,
answers to questions, acts and regulations etc) are used with
the sole objective of providing the service requested and
will only be transmitted to third parties if this is necessary
to achieve such objective (delivery service of publications
made by the Guarantor handled by the Presidency of the Board
of Ministers - Department of Information and Publishing).
Type of details handled
Internet search details
During normal use, the computer systems and software procedures
used in this web site acquire some personal details, the transmission
of which is implicit in the use of the communication protocols
of Internet.
This information is not collected to be associated to identified
individuals, but who due to their nature may, through elaborations
and associations with information held by third parties, allow
for the identification of users.
IP addresses or the dominion names of the computers used by
users that connected to the web site, the URI (Uniform Resource
Identifier) addresses of the resources requested, the time
of the request, the method used in submitting the request
to the server, the dimension of the file achieved as an answer,
the numerical code indicating the state of the answer given
by the server (successful, error etc), and other parameters
related to the operative system and to the computerized environment
of the user may be classified in this category.
These details are used with the sole objective of extracting
anonymous statistics on the use of the web site and to control
the correct operation and they are cancelled immediately after
use. The figures may be used to ascertain responsibility in
the case of possible computer crimes that may damage the web
site: apart from this possibility, the details on web contacts
are not saved for more than seven days.
Details provided voluntarily by the user.
The optional, explicit and voluntary transmission of e-mails
to the addresses indicated in this site result in the subsequent
acquisition of the address by the sender, which is required
in order to answer the request, as well as any other personal
data included in the request.
Specific summary information will be progressively indicated
or visualized in the pages of the site available for special
services, upon request.
Cookies
No personal details of the user will be acquired by the site.
Cookies are not used to transmit information of a personal
nature, and so-called persistent cookies are not used, that
is to say systems to identify users.
The use of so-called session cookies (that are not stored
in the users computer and disappear when the browser is closed)
is strictly limited to transmission of session identification
(made up of numbers generated by the computer) required to
allow for safe and efficient exploration through the site.
The so-called session cookies used in this site avoid the
need to use other technical information which may compromise
the privacy of user navigation and which do not allow for
the acquisition of personal details which may identify the
user.
Possibility of conferring details
Besides the indications provided for navigation, the user
is free to provide his personal details indicated in the application
form to the Guarantor or in any case indicated in contacts
with the Office in order to chase up any material or other
communications.
Non assignment may lead to the impossibility of acquiring
the material requested.
For the sake of completion, it is important to point out that
in some cases (not subject to the ordinary management of this
site) the Authority may request news and information in accordance
with article 157 n. 196/2003, related to the control of the
treatment of personal details. In these cases an answer is
obligatory, otherwise an administrative sanction will be applied.
Methods of treatment
The personal details are used with computerized instruments
for the amount of time required to achieve the objectives
for which they have been collected.
Specific safety measures are applied to prevent the loss of
details, illegal or incorrect uses and unauthorized access.
Rights of the individuals involved
The individuals that own the personal details, will have the
right at any time to receive confirmation of the existence
or non existence of the same details and to know about the
contents and origin, check the accuracy or request an integration
or update, or modification (art. 6 of the Legislative Decree
n. 196/2003).
In accordance with the same article, the individual will have
the right to request cancellation, anonymous transformation
or block the details treated in violation of the law, as well
as oppose their treatment, for legitimate reasons.
Requests are made to the Guarantor.
